My name is Elena Burrows. I’m a qualified and experienced counselor with adults, teenagers and children.

 

I graduated from Salford University in Manchester with a BSc (HONS) Professional Counselling Degree and have obtained years of experience in Counselling.

 

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)which is the major regulatory body for counselors in the UK. It ensures that the therapeutic support I offer you is of the highest standard.

Stress and Anger Management

Stress is usually our body’s reaction to life situations. Stress is affecting our feelings and thoughts, and then our body.

Anger is often our reaction to stress.

Stress at Work

Many people can face difficulties at work: i.e. performance issues, poor job fit or it can get even worse: bullying, harassment, discrimination, etc. Some people can sort it themselves, some people manage work stress by talking to a mental health professional.

Eating Disorder

Eating disorders can appear with stress and when people stop controlling their food intake. People can eat too much or too little, or struggle to eat anything at all. Eating disorders can bring emotional distress, health problems and in severe cases can cause life.

Child Related Issues

It’s important to notice your child’s behaviour. How they act gives clues to how they feel. If you suspect your child is finding it difficult to cope, look out for the warning signs.

Young People Counselling

The teenage years are notoriously difficult for both parents and children. Young people are going through a period of intense psychological and physical change, as well as facing pressures at school or with friends.

Abuse – Emotional, Physical, Verbal, Sexual

All forms of abuse can cause serious harm, psychological stress and suffering.

Being a victim of any form of abuse is a traumatic experience.

In the event of violence, you should always seek help!

Avoiding Conflict

Avoiding conflict is common when people are feeling vulnerable to express their true feelings and thoughts. This can cause frustration, loss of sleep, stress and other issues.

I have appointments available both day and evening, up to 10pm.

I realise many people have busy schedules. My aim is to make counselling accessible whether you are working,

busy with school or have evening commitments.

Face to Face Counselling

We will be meeting in a comfortable studio in Laserina clinic with a private and confidential setting.

Online Counselling

I am available on Zoom, Viber, WhatsApp and Skype for Video or Audio counselling.

These services give you availability to receive support from any place: from the other city or country; from the comfort of your home or any other suitable place for you.

The sessions must be prepaid.

What happens in counselling?


On our own we tend to avoid pain – that’s simply human nature. But hiding under the duvet doesn’t work. It doesn’t do anything to change our feelings or the circumstances of life. It’s only with professional help that we can understand and work through our problems.

 

In the first instance, a counsellor helps you realise exactly what it is that you feel. Just saying it out loud can be a huge relief. Then we explore more fully how you got here and what to do now. Working through your thoughts and emotions can take courage. But remember the aim isn’t to dwell on the difficulties. It’s to help you release the past and become free.
